How Does Harvest Naturals Sleep Aid Work?
Glycine research suggests it may stimulate the production of serotonin, a chemical found in the brain that makes people feel "good”. As a result of its potential to assist in serotonin production Glycine is suggested to assist with insomnia, and improved sleep quality. Because it is the primary amino acid in collagen, it strengthens skin, cartilage, blood, bones, and ligaments, not just muscles. Glycine may also assist in the prevention of muscle breakdown by boosting the body's levels of creatine. Creatine is a compound that helps to build muscle mass and restore ADP (Adenosine diphosphate) to ATP (adenosine triphosphate). Glycine may assist wounds to heal and protect skin from UV rays, oxidation, and free radical damage. Additionally, supplementing with Glycine may reduce the level of insulin resistance, something that induces high blood sugar.

L-Theanine is not naturally occurring in the body. However, it has a similar chemical structure to glutamate, which is a natural amino acid produced in the body, assisting in transmitting nerve impulses in the brain. L-Theanine is responsible for elevating GABA levels in addition to increasing the levels of serotonin and dopamine. In conjunction with L-Theanine's benefits of alertness, it may also benefit sleep, as well as assist in the regulation of blood pressure.

Baicalin Skullcap are believed to help reduce inflammation while assisting with immune system response. Also, Baicalin has shown that it may also reduce oxidative stress. The root of the plant contains the flavonoids baicalin, wogonin, and baicalein. All three flavonoids have also shown to have potential anti-inflammatory effects, liver-protective effects. In today's uses, Chinese Skullcap is combined with Acacia catechu to provide short-term pain relief and stiffness; the results presented are similar to that of naproxen.

Oleamide is an amide of oleic acid, a type of fatty acid naturally occurring in the body. When sleep-deprived, the fatty acid builds up in the cerebrospinal fluid and induces sleep.

Melatonin is a hormone naturally found in the body that regulates your sleep cycle. For many people, melatonin production is triggered by darkness, signaling to the body to prepare for sleep. Light, having the opposite effect, decreases the production of melatonin signaling for the body to prepare for being awake. Some people who have trouble sleeping may have low levels of melatonin and may benefit from supplementing melatonin.
