Our Psyllium Husk is grown in India and derived from the Plantago ovata species. Psyllium husk is primarily used as a dietary fiber due to its high percentage of soluble fiber. Soluble fibers are able to pass through the digestive system without completely being absorbed or broken down. This means the psyllium husk will behave more as a bulking compound, absorbing water and becoming more viscous. The bulking aspect is attributed to the special type of plant compound called mucilage found in the husk of Psyllium seed. This is the main reason it is able to turn from a powder to gel-like substance when in the presence of water. Psyllium husk is the main active ingredient commonly found in products that help in reducing constipation. The bulk-forming aspects allow Psyllium to act as a laxative with increasing stool size and absorbing water for more easily passable stools. Dietary fiber may also promote healthy gut bacteria and colon health. Recent studies also suggest it may help with longer satiety when taken prior to a meal. Showing some promising correlation this may help with weight loss.

Keto Flatbread - Coconut Flour & Psyllium Husk – 6 Servings

  • 5 tbsp ground psyllium husk powder
  • 1¼ cups almond flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp sea salt
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tsp cider vinegar
  • 3 egg whites
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds (optional)
  • 1/2 cup Coconut flour
  • 2 tablespoons Psyllium Husk powder
  • 1.5 oz Coconut oil (or melted butter)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 Cup Boiling water
  • Herbs/garlic powder to flavor (optional)


  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl. Bring the water to a boil.
  3. Add vinegar and egg whites to the dry ingredients, and combine well. Add boiling water, while beating with a hand mixer for about 30 seconds. Don't over mix the dough, the consistency should resemble Play-Doh.
  4. Moisten hands with a little olive oil and shape dough into 6 separate rolls. Place on a greased baking sheet. Top with optional sesame seeds.
  5. Bake on lower rack in the oven for 50–60 minutes, depending on the size of your bread rolls. They're done when you hear a hollow sound when tapping the bottom of the bun.
  6. Serve with butter and toppings of your choice.
  • 1/2 cup Coconut flour
  • 2 tablespoons Psyllium Husk powder
  • 1.5 oz Coconut oil (or melted butter)
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 Cup Boiling water
  • Herbs/garlic powder to flavor (optional)
  1. Mix the dry ingredients with a hand whisk.
  2. Add the oil and blend well. It will look like a nut butter.
  3. Add the boiling water, half at a time and blend until a dough like mixture forms.
  4. Divide the mixture into 6 balls.
  5. Roll the balls between 2 sheets of parchment paper and flatten out.
  6. Either use them flattened or cut them into a circle with a saucepan lid.
  7. Dry fry in a pan for 2– 3 minutes each side, until golden.
