What are Phenylethylamine Capsules?
Phenylethylamine is a chemical naturally found in the body and also in chocolate. It is a powerful neurotransmitter and neuro-regulator that may play a role in assisting or inducing mental stimulation, elevated mood, and increased focus. Phenylethylamine, sometimes referred to as PEA for short, should not be confused with Palmitoylethanolamide, which also is abbreviated as PEA.

How is Phenylethylamine Made?
Phenylethylamine is produced in the human body after the decarboxylation process from the amino acid L-Phenylalanine, known to be mediated by aromatic amino acid decarboxylase (AADC)[1]. L-Phenylalanine is known to be converted into L-Tyrosine, a non-essential amino acid responsible for creating melanin through the phenylalanine hydroxylase enzyme. Phenylethylamine may contribute to the production of neurotransmitters such as serotonin [2].
