What is DMAE L-Bitartrate?
DMAE Bitartrate, also known as Dimethylaminoethanol, N, N-dimethyl-2-aminoethanol, or more commonly deanol, is a naturally occurring choline analog antioxidant. This choline analog antioxidant is produced naturally in the body while also found in fatty fish such as sardines, anchovies, and salmon. DMAE is combined with Bitartrate to form a stable salt. DMAE can be found typically in some food sources such as salmon or anchovies and also occurs naturally in the brain. DMAE is also believed to be responsible for the increase in ACH production. ACH, or Acetylcholine, is a neurotransmitter responsible for assisting nerve cells in sending signals.

DMAE L-Bitartrate benefits may include:

  • Acetylcholine Production
  • Increased Focus and Cognitive Function
  • Increased Athletic Performance
  • Sustained Healthy Metabolic Function

How does DMAE L-Bitartrate work?
DMAE can "protect neurons and other cells from harmful effects of certain types of oxidation by embedding itself in the structure of the cell and acting as an antioxidant, as well as sustaining metabolic processes in the body through a process known as 'methyl donation.'" [1] DMAE is believed to increase the production of Acetylcholine, which is a neurotransmitter that operates in the central nervous system, peripheral nervous system, and the nervous system. Acetylcholine plays a role in cognition, but also plays a crucial part in the REM sleep cycle, and is also responsible for sensing pain, as well as contraction of skeletal muscles. Also, DMAE is suspected to reduce the amount of beta-amyloid buildup in the brain. An excess of beta-amyloid can be responsible for memory loss.

    An underrated choline

Posted by Jeff M on 22nd Jan 2020

This is an underrated choline. It behaves very nicely with my fish oil and racetam stack regardless of the racetam. I also like the little scoop HR puts in the jar.
