What Is DHEA (Dehydroepiandrosterone)?
Produced by the adrenal glands near the kidneys and liver, DHEA is a naturally occurring hormone within the body. A reduction of DHEA levels seems to occur in older adults. DHEA has been used to help alleviate symptoms of adrenal insufficiency. DHEA may assist with the body's production of male & female hormones.† Studies also show that DHEA may assist in restoring bone density in persons with low amounts of the hormone.
