Description

What is Ashwagandha Extract Powder?

For thousands of years, Ashwagandha has been used in ayurvedic medicine to treat stress, energy, and sleep. The primary attribute for its effectiveness lies within its abundance of the active ingredient withanolides. Withanolides are effective for treating inflammation within the body and are produced through the oxidation of lactone or its many derivatives. Ashwagandha also works to block stress pathways within the brain by regulating the chemical signaling of the CNS. A study that was performed on the Shoden brand of ashwagandha found that in a placebo-controlled,  60-day double-blind study showed that morning cortisol was reduced and concluded that the stress-relieving effects may occur through the moderating effect on the hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal axis. In addition to assisting with reducing stress, Shoden has also shown its effectiveness in helping sleep quality. Non-restorative sleep is something that affects 700-million people. Those who took Shoden for 60-days showed a 42% increase in restorative sleep while also increasing the amount of restorative sleep by 36 minutes.
