What is Agmatine Sulfate?
Agmatine is a naturally occurring amino acid found in plants and animals and is a byproduct of Arginine that is produced through a process called decarboxylation. In essence, it is Arginine with the carboxylic acid end removed. Agmatine is thought to act as a neurotransmitter, a chemical that modulates the activity of cells in your brain. It is also an intermediate product in the synthesis of polyamines, an essential compound for cell growth. Agmatine can even help regulate the production of NO from Arginine by inhibiting the enzyme synthetase in the body. The uptake of agmatine effects Arginine in NO synthesis and blood vessel dilation, which is usually limited naturally by the body.

Agmatine Sulfate Benefits & Uses May Include:

  • May enhances Nitric Oxide (NO) Production†
  • May promote lean muscle growth†
  • May Increase pump intensity†
  • May support healthy metabolism†

How Does Agmatine Sulfate Work?
While the specific mechanisms of Agmatine need further study, the amino acid has been shown to inhibit various receptors such as N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA), nicotinic acetylcholine, and imidazoline. Agmatine can also inhibit nitric oxide synthase enzymes, which allows it to regulate elevated levels of nitric oxide. Agmatine can inhibit calcium channels and specific serotonin receptors as well. Further research is needed to determine the full extent of Agmatine's mechanisms.

    Great products

Posted by Sal on 19th Aug 2020

Although not necessarily a review on this specific product, I’d like to provide info. I was introduced to this site by Nootropicsexpert.com (David Tomen). I have since reduced purchases elsewhere. HR has great products (price, availability, delivery, formulation, etc). I almost purchased this and read that if you are a “drinker” this may exacerbate or cause ulcers. Not sure if this is the case with Arginine in general but just a caution.

    excellent supplement

You ought to read about this on examine.com and try it out; it does a lot of stuff you're probably trying to address through other supps, and it may synergize with them as well. I found it interesting that it's used by bodybuilders, people trying to deal with pain, and nootropic brain hackers.

    New to agmatine sulphate...

Posted by Germain Giner on 12th Jun 2014

I bought this primarily because of its reputation as an agonist for other pain relievers and its own analgesic effect. I have chronic injury related neck and shoulder pain, and am constantly on the hunt for relief that won't 'dumb me down'. So far, so good. In the short time I've been taking it, I am also getting some relief from neuropathic pain in both my right pinky and ring fingers as well as my right toes, artifacts of my neck injury. Previously, only Radiofrequency ablation has provided relief. I find it is a good anti-anxiety agent as well.
